“What’s in the Bag?”
“What’s In the Bag?” refers to the selection of clubs that players are carrying . We are interested in what brands and specific clubs the pros are using. For example, is Phil carrying one or two drivers, does he have a rescue club, which lofts of wedges, and how many? What kind of putter was Rory using?
My bag has gotten heavier in recent years. It is not from the clubs because they are lighter. It is due to the things I have added in recent years. They reflect my age and conditions in Minnesota.
Here’s a partial list…
- Band aids
- Warm gloves for both hands.
- A stocking cap for cold winds.
- Pain medications…two kinds.
- Sun screen.
- Sun glasses.
- Glucose tablets for low blood sugar.
- Energy bars.
- Marking pen to put logo on balls.
- Cloth back and wrist braces.
They have been added to the usual assortment of tees, balls, ball markers, divot tools, towel, golf gloves, rain suit, umbrella, water bottle, rule book, bag tags, blank score cards, and pencils. It is like a suitcase with room for golf clubs. No wonder the airlines charge extra to haul them around the country. No wonder I can no longer carry my clubs.
